Best Gifts for Your Holiday Gift Swap (Under $25!)

All through school, Secret Santa was one of my all-time favorite traditions. Whether it was just contained in a group of friends or grade-wide, I loved dropping hints throughout the week and the big reveal at the end. Fun fact: I once made the girl I had start a conga line to get her hint for the day. So it’s an understatement that I take this kind of seriously. Here are my nine favorite under $25 gifts for whatever holiday gift swap you’re doing this year.

Gift Guide: For the Home Obsessed

This gift guide is for anyone who’s like me and totally obsessed with all things home and redecorating. This year I’ve done an office and now I’m in the process of redoing my bedroom. And on top of that, I’m preparing to move out of state again so I’m already getting ideas for how to decorate a new apartment! Furniture and decor shopping is my second favorite kind of shopping—behind clothes and in front of shoes. So if there’s anyone on your list who’s moving, redecorating, or just loves buying new things for the home, here’s a gift guide for them.

Thanksgiving Favorites

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it’s the only one where my entire family is together. Though a lot of my family lives in the same city as me, a good portion lives out of state. I love having everyone come together to celebrate and be thankful for each other and everything we have. The fall color scheme of the decor is gorgeous, everything is warm and cozy, and the food is delicious. I’ll be in the kitchen cooking with my grandma or laughing with my cousins in the living room. And one thing I absolutely can’t wait for are the pumpkin cupcakes with homemade whipped cream frosting I make every year! (That recipe’s coming to this blog soon!) I’m looking forward to being surrounded by my family, my friends coming to visit from out of town, and the delicious food. There’s so much to love about Thanksgiving and these nine things are only a few of my favorites to make the holiday picturesque.

Cozy Knits and Fringe Bits

IMG_9488

The leaves are changing and it’s finally starting to look like fall. Plus, the weather is starting to cool down, which means it’s time for oversized, cozy knit sweaters. Lately, I’ve been curling up in warm sweaters and working on my latest book. It’s coming along, slowly but surely. My second mentorship starts Monday and I’m excited to get professional feedback on my work. And while hulled up in my office I’ll be cozied up in a warm sweater working on my first bestseller. Paper Source Haul

IMG_4166.JPG

When I was in New York City this summer, we wandered into a Paper Source and I had found my happy place. I’ve been obsessed with notebooks and pretty little office things for, like, forever and now I had just stumbled on the motherload of stores that sold all my favorite things. I bought a couple items in New York, some notebooks and such, but I wanted to go back and buy everything. Problem? There’s no Paper Source in my city. But that didn’t stop me, immediately, I was on my phone on the website looking up the nearest location. And I found that it’s only two hours away. In another state, but only two hours away. So my mom and I made a plan to day trip to Ohio one Saturday in the fall and visit Cleveland’s local Paper Source. And this is what I bought. Continue reading “Paper Source Haul”
